Hell (w)hole was an installation art work made by Syd Tovenaar (with the help of Tjepkema) that existed for a short time in a Dutch slum in the port city of Rotterdam in The Netherlands. The work involved police, government officials, vandals, artists, literature, fire, visual art and was both conceptual and political in nature and design. The street slowly self destructed as it became part of a demolition project and this process is revealed in the photo document of which a part is reproduced above. Other than this document, the work only exists in a work of literature - Dreaming Myself to Death by Syd Tovenaar.
